Associate - Private Equity Finance (3-5 years experience)
Location: New York City
In connection with their new initiative to establish a formal private equity finance practice in the New York office, we are looking for a few mid-level associates (3rd - 5th year) who are willing to commit time to this practice area. Candidates who have substantial experience representing private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies in financing matters are optimal. Relevant securities and banking experience is a plus but experience only as a securities or banking lawyer works as well. Relevant experience should include financing commitment papers for competitive auctions, bridge lending, general banking and/or securities transactions, public company representation and mezzanine finance. It is not necessary that candidates have devoted 100% of their practice to representing private equity sponsor and issuers -- we would also be interested in speaking with candidates who have been representing banks and underwriters in such transactions. We are, however, looking for folks who are willing to devote more of their time to the sponsor/borrower/issuer side representation. We are not seeking candidates interested in fund formation or administration.
